Blessings!

Fall is truely here as we are experiencing colder weather in the Pacific Northwest, USA. I look forward to this time of year with the leaves turning beautiful fall colors and eventually falling from the trees. I guess it reminds me that God is in control and there is always a new season just around the corner.

I know some people dread the fall. They hate even thinking of the thought of raking up leaves and putting on warmer clothes. Fall to them represents work and deadness. Fall might be a hard time of the year for you. But the good news is that we have a God who brings change in our lives. He is a God who never lets us stay empty or broken.

This reminds me of a nursery rhyme from Mother Goose; "Humpty Dumpty." I have never used a nursery rhyme in my articles before, but this one is perfect for my article below. God does heal broken Humpty Dumptys!

If you feel like you are like Humpty Dumpty and long for and desire to be put back together again, I encourage you to simply talk to God and ask Him to come and help you heal. Remember healing takes time, but your healing will come as you yield yourself totally over to God and allow Him to bring forth your wholeness!

 Is There Hope For The Broken Humpty Dumpty?
 Healing for the irreparable!

Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall. Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. All the king's horses and all the kings men Couldn't put Humpty together again.

I am sure you have heard of the Mother Goose children's story "Humpty Dumpty." We know he was an egg sitting on the wall and fell. When an egg falls, it is irreparable damage. To put an egg back together with its entire runny yoke would be impossible. Once the egg is broken, you will lose some of its insides and the small little pieces of broken shell can be so minute to even see, let alone pick up and try to glue together. This problem in the nursery rhyme was given to the king and his horses.

Why did Humpty Dumpty fall? Why was he sitting on a wall? There is a reason why I bring this all up. Maybe you find yourself fallen and feel there is no way for any one to put you back together, let alone to be picked up from your fallen state. Perhaps you are broken because you were pushed off the wall? You were abused and hurt and think you can never be whole again. Maybe you see your broken marriage and believe there is no hope. How about broken friendships and relationships that have splintered because of something you did or something you said? You could have gone through something that made you lose your confidence in God, let alone any confidence in yourself. Broken dreams? Broken promises? Broken integrity? Irreparable damage?

We have to remind ourselves that Christ came to heal the brokenhearted.

Isaiah 61:1

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

I emphasized "bind up the brokenhearted," to show that this is exactly why Christ came to earth. He is a God who heals and a God who sees. The words "bind up" can also be translated in the Strong's Hebrew and Greek Dictionary as; "to wrap firmly, gird about, govern, healer, wrap about." God is able to wrap you up and heal you from the inside out. I know as I am a walking testimony of how the King of kings has put this Humpty Dumpty back together again. I was in need of a healer. When we are in need, it gives the open door for Christ to come and be what we are in need of. If we need healing, He is our healer. If we need comfort, He is our Comforter. If we need guidance, He is our Shepherd. Whatever need we may have, He is more than enough to fulfill that need.

There is a form of brokenness that is good to have, it is to be broken before the Lord with a contrite heart (Psalm 51:17). God often allows us to experience things in our lives to bring us to a place of brokenness before Him. Circumstances can come and cause us to be completely at the end of ourselves. We may have exhausted all our resources and knowledge and finally turn to God for help. Brokenness is more than that. Brokenness is allowing God to have total control of our lives. It is giving up our dreams and desires for His. It is a heart that wants to obey and please Him. It is letting God govern our lives, and in turn, He binds up our wounds and picks us up after we've fallen. He is a God who helps us walk again.

God takes us through a time of process to bring healing in our lives after we've been broken. Sickness takes time to heal. I remember a dream I had during the time I wrote my book, The Garbage Man Always Comes On Fridays. In the dream I was in the Hospital. A nurse was taking my temperature. She placed a thermometer in my mouth and quickly left. I took the thermometer out of my mouth and it read; "2000 degrees!" I remember saying in the dream, "Wow, I must be very sick!" Then I woke up. It was a realization that I was sick. God had me in His hospital and He was my Great Physician, my Healer, constantly taking care of me, watching my healing every step of the way. He was putting Humpty Dumpty back together again.

God can and will pick up the broken pieces of your life and put you back together again if you let Him. Trust He is for you and not against you. It doesn't matter what you've done or what has been done to you. Allow God to pick up the pieces of your life and bind up your wounds. Let Him govern you completely and heal your every need. He is our great Healer! There is hope for any broken Humpty Dumpty.
